The MacKenzie Xtreme (MX) is available in three sizes, MX4, MX5 and MX6,
for line weights 8-13. The MX introduces a new direction for BAUER with
the use of a "draw-bar" system which places the star drag adjusting knob
on the frame side. The MX retains the system introduced on the MacKenzie
for simple "no-gadget" spool removal. The MX uses a very large 2.4"
arbor diameter with extensive machining to achieve a strong but light
weight spool. The frame also has extensive porting to achieve a lighter
package while retaining the strength needed for saltwater big game
angling. The MX uses the patented BAUER "zero-backlash" clutch, which is
150% larger than the clutch used in the original MacKenzie reels. The MX
drag system is sealed from the elements when the reel is in use but
enables the users quick and simple servicing when needed.
